Andrews Memorial Hospital began in 1944 as a 51-bed general hospital in Kingston, owned and operated by the West Indies Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists with Medical, Surgical, Obstetrical, X-Ray and Laboratory departments. The 5-acre site on which it is located, 27 Hope Road, Kingston, Jamaica, was purchased by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists as the site for the hospital.
